Who are the SC Cooper names you are trying to connect to? Malachi had lots of daughters and sons......Dee
Hi Mindy, I found your Emanuel Cooper in the 1920 & 1930 censuses. Do you have this info? I had it all typed out for you but my computer froze up before I was able to send the email to you. If you need the info, let me know & I'll type it again. Barbara Kidder
I'm searching for records concerning Emanuel Cooper born in Virginia in 1883. His mother's name was Martha and he had one sibling. His father's name may have been Sparrell or Sparrow. I'd really like to learn his father's real name and the name of his siblings. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mindy Cooper
Can anyone PLEASE help with locating a male descendant of the following COOPER line from Virginia? Virginia patents and grants, as well as several other records suggest that a Fleet COOPER, mostlikely was born in southeastern Virginia. It could be that he was the same Fleet COOPER of Nansemond County, VA, who sold land along the Blackwater River on 9 Mar 1757 which he purchased in Feb 1745. Thee also is record of a Fleet COOPER living in Elizabeth City County, VA, who was fined by the Court 19 February 1718 for failing to attend church. Also in Elizabeth City County a Fleet COOPER witnessed the will of Robert BRIGHT on 19 Jan 1723/23. In 1645 or 1646 the SW portion of Elizabeth City County became Nansemond County. Possibly these two Fleet COOPERs living fairly close related. Earlier Virginia records link the "widow FLEET" and a Jno. COOPER and his wife as grantors in a 1675 Gloucester County deed. This indicates a possible FLEET and COOPER connection. Other York County, VA, records indicate connections between a widow, Anne FLEETE, and John COOPER, here attorney. These do! cuments were recorded between 1665 and 1672. Regards, Gary [email protected]
Del, fyi, I show a Delilah as the daughter of Malachi's brother Sion and wife Mary Brantley. She was born between 1805-1813, and m. 1) John FERGUSON and 2)George HAGOOD. Del, Thanks for the sons' names; I only had Levi and Asa. (have had some contact with their descendants) Do you have any dates for the Jameses? Maybe the first one died. It was not uncommon to name a later child after a deceased one. I am looking for Sarah Cooper married Vertrees in mid 1800s I am new at this and would like any help I can get. Thanks Shirley Manis
Here is the link. When you go there it appears to be very well documented. When I went back to the site to see if my Jesse was there, I saw that the "sources" were actually other people's gedcoms. Sometimes they can be a help but other times not. Click here: RootsWeb's WorldConnect Project: Cooper, Yates, Choctaw, Cherokee and Sephardic in Ga.-Tenn.-Ala. Good Luck, Sharon
