    3. Hello Annie and COOPER Listservers, I'm not sure if I have a connection with your COOPER's, Annie, or not. I have a William (father) and a Mary Ann (daughter) COOPER: William Joseph COOPER was married to Mary GIBBON (daughter of Daniel GIBBON) in St James Piccadilly Church in London, England on April 27, 1831. William was a tailor, and they lived right by Savile Row. They had six children, all born in London, England and christened at St James Piccadilly. Their COOPER children were: Mary Ann (b. 5/24/1832), William Joseph (b. 6/18/1833), Emily (b. 8/23/1834), Amy (b. 3/12/1836), Arthur Gibbon (b. 9/7/1837) and Harry (11/13/1838). I am a descendant of Harry Cooper, who married Mary Ann SPRINGALL and emigrated to Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada with his wife and two children (Emily and Herbert H. in 1863). Let me know if you, Annie, or anyone else sees a connection. 2. Hi everyone, I am new to this list and I am hoping that someone here will be able to help me. My great grandfather was Cary Wesley Henry (b 22 Oct 1887 d 3 Jun 1979) according to his death certificate his father was Zeb Henry and his mother was Artie Cooper. According to his application for a Social Secrurity number his father was Ele? Henry and his mother was Artie Hooper. 1. [COOPER-L] Anyone know about this family??
    2. Hi, I recieved this info from a "cousin' who isn't on our list. Can anyone out there help us with this family? This Will Cooper is possibly a brother to my John Wesley Cooper!! Thank you all in advance Ed Cooper Info on Uncle Will Cooper: He stayed with them (Tom Cooper's family) from about 1930 to 1932. Yes he thinks William was his name, he doesn't really remember when he died but it must have been around the late 1940's. He was at a funeral home in Greenup, ky but it is out of business now and has been for years. He had several children but he doesn't remember all of their names, the ones he does remember are: one boy named : General Lee Cooper one boy named: Farris Cooper one boy named: John He had at least 2 daughters but he doesn't remember their names. He lived in greenup somewhere when he died and would have been in his 90"s. I don't know about you, but I am really excited about this. Please answer soon as I feel like I am going to explode with excitement. Searching for the elusive parents of John Wesley Cooper born 1849/1850 Letcher, Floyd County, KY area

    2. Ivaleine Cooper
    3. George, I do not have information on your Cordelia, but I do have a Cordelia Cooper in my files. She was born about 1879 in Sidon, AR (White Co.) Cordelia and I are descended from a line that goes back to Allyss Elizabeth Benson and John Coggin of Davidson CO, NC. I notice the name Benson in your line. The Cooper's and these two families were in the Davidson Co. area. My Elizabeth Coggin is their granddaughter. She was born in about 1813, married John Cooper and moved west to KY. John died in KY in 1854, and Elizabeth went on to AR. I cannot connect these families to you, but thought I would put this in because of similarities in names. I do not have any proof of parents for my John Cooper. Just a statement on his death certificate, which states that his father's name was John. Good Luck. If you find a connection, let me know. Kay Cooper

    2. I am seeking information on Cordelia Cooper who married a man named Dickerson in the early 1850's in AR, maybe St Francis Co or Monroe Co. The husband was killed about 1859. Cordelia was left with three small children: Josephine, Evaline and Henry Calvin. Cordelia married again in 1861 to Joseph Fruen in Monroe Co AR. They had one child: William Edward. Cordelia's parents are Benson Cooper and Delphia Lindsay. This family came from SC in the 1840's. Thanks. Georgia Aeverman

    3. Does anyone have a listing for the descendants of Leonard Kieffer b. abt.1705 Germany who came over on the Samuel in 1732? I have found this on the Lancaster Pa. genweb page KUEFFER, LEONHARDT (Chestnut Hil1) Kueffer, Margaretha Barbara, b 11 19 1733; bap 12 16 1733, Spon. Christoph Ollinger & Barbara Reugerin This was a baptismal record of Rev.. John Casper Stoever. It appears Leonhardt (Leonard) and wife Margaretha ? had a daughter Barbara b. 11/19/1733. Could this be the Leonard who came over on the ship Samuel in 1732? Does anyone have information on other Kuefers from this area in Pa. especially a Valentine and wife Barbara Kuefer, and a Vincens Kuefer who had a son named Valentine baptized in 1745? 1. [COOPER-L] Making the most of those "shared" names
    2. Fellow family history junkies, Another day, another idea :^) A lovely lady on the Allison surname list was speaking of the many times the name "Rose" came up in various families in her lines through the generations & it reminded me that I'm sure we all have come across many similar names in our family history work. I'd like to share with you a way in which I have tried to make these "finds" meaningful to my children & granddaughter. Whenever I find a common name that someone in the family trees shares with my children & granddaughter I make particular note of it. I then include pages about the people & relationship in that "child's" memory book / scrapbook album. For example little Kelsey Elisabeth Rich's pages have photos of her Aunt Erin Elisabeth, my grandmother Mary Elizabeth Hayward Ryan & my sister Betty McMackin Cooley etc etc, plus notes about how she is related to all of the Elizabeths & derivitives throughout the family tree. I also try to write on one of the pages about any traits I know about the person, like "Aunt Betty was an accomplished ballet dancer & grandmother Mary Elizabeth loved to garden and do needlework". FInding things in common with ancestors has always made both my family & the clients I work with on the memory books feel more connected to those relatives. My teen age daughter Kathleen's list includes me: Susan Kathryn; my mother Ellen Catherine Ryan, my aunt Kathryn Welton, my grandmother's aunt Kate Kennedy etc. The kids have told me that it gives them a sense of continuity & of belonging, even if most of the people are those who have been passed away for many years. Also I make note of how surnames such as ALLISON are used as given names, such as my father Jay Allison McMackin, cousin Allison Anthony, & how my grandfather Tim RYAN's name is also used - my son Ryan Reynolds, my cousin's son Ryan McCabe etc etc. I encourage each of you to think about how you can make your family names mean more to the future generations by doing something similar. Any other ideas out there on how to build better connections with our offspring & those who came before us?
