    1. [COOPER-L] Moses and James Cooper sons of John
    2. abcfhist
    3. Good Evening, I am new to this list but would like to send this little bit of information that I found in Somner, Wash. Moses and James Cooper (brothers) of Dover, N. J. were the son of John who came from Haverstraw, N. Y. at an early date. That is all that it stated pertaining to the cooper family. However, I have been searching for a marriage lie. somewhere in N. J. for Horace S. Cooper to Eunice Van Buskirk. I am guessing at this time @at @ 1827 - 8. They migrated to La Grange Co., Ind. Was told that a brother of Horace also migrated there but have nothing pertaining to this so called brother. Not even a name. Eunice Van Buskirk was the daughter of Luke Van Buskirk (son of Lucas and Anne) and Elizabeth Maxwell, daughter of Capt. John and Eunice Osborne. I have quite a bit on the descendants of Horace and Eunice but not all. Is there someone else working on this line out there? Beth

    1. [COOPER-L] Fleet and Benjamin Cooper

    3. Have just subscribed to this list. I think all of us researching the Benjamin Cooper of Philadelphia, supposedly the father of Fleet Cooper Sr should have a look at John Croom's comments on his Web Site: CrooIII's Home Page #7 Hopefully, if there is proof out there this will bring it out. As we all know, in genealogy, if you want to know where your mistakes are, just publish what you have. -- Marianna "Mike" Williams Want to see where I live? http://wintergreenresort.com/ Want to see why? http://www.twnf.org/index.html

    3. Gwen, Andrew College is in Cuthbert, GA. I have the Marion Co. book because I work in the library. Thnak you for offering. I have tried to find more information on William S., but the only info I have is from the book and there are no sources given. I am not really sure his name is William Stephen. The only proof I have seen is the mortality schedule that gives his name as Will S. I know where the Sand Bethel cemetery is with all the graves. That is where my grandparents are also buried. 3. I was glad to hear from you. So far I've only heard from one other person about these Coopers & he was interested in my Cochran ties. I'm descended from the sister, Martha. She married John Lawhorn who grew up in the same district of Marion Co.as she did. They lived "next door" in Webster Co. after they married & soon ended up in Taylor Co. where they are buried at Sand Bethel Cemetery along with Hardy & his family. Do you have the write-up in the History of Marion County about William Stephens Cooper. There's a picture in there of Elizabeth Bacon (his wife) & Fleet Wood Cooper(younger son). My scanner is misbehaving but I have transcribed the written portion of the article if you would like a copy. Or I can make copies & send it to you through the mail, picture & all. That is actually the only information I have so far on the Coopers. Unfortunately the only source here in the Marietta library for Marion Co. is the one book--the History. I haven't started on the census records though. They usually have pretty interesting information. I'll be happy to share what I discover as I find it and I'd be interested in what you might have. I also have some really good sources for Taylor Co. if you need more information on Hardy and his life there. Where do you live? I noticed your email was from Andrew College but I'm not familiar with it. Sincerely Gwen
