    1. [COOPER-L] New Jersey COOPERS
    2. Beverly Porter
    3. Hi, I'm a new member of the COOPER list and am particularly interested in the New Jersey COOPERS. My great grandmother Elizabeth COOPER, born in 1839, was the daughter of Gilbert COOPER, Pompton, Passaic County. He was born in New York, 1804. She later married Isaac TOMKINS. I would like to hear from anyone who might be related to this line. Beverly Fearn Porter, Columbia, MD

    3. Dear Researchers of the COOPER Surname, Isaac Cooper MESSER was born 25 Jan 1842, in Smythe County, Virginia; and died 6 Apr 1923, in Greenup County, Kentucky. He was buried in Kehoe Cemetery, Greenup County. In the community of Kehoe, the COOPER surname was prominent, due to the settlement of Eli COOPER there in 1824. Isaac Cooper MESSER's name suggests a connection to COOPERs, combined with his place of interment, located as it was in a community abundantly represented by COOPERs. I am looking forward to corresponding with (and I thank in advance) any researchers who have a bit more information on Isaac Cooper MESSER, especially his namesake, one theoretical Isaac COOPER. Thanks Again, Randal W. Cooper

Our William Cooper came to Pope Co IL in time to marry Polly Towns in 1833. The story is that he may have been married before and perhaps was from TN. He and Polly had a son William H. in 1841. Polly and William H. went to TX with Her sister and brother in law in 1853. William Sr was probably dead by this time. 2. Gary and Martha
    3. Am looking for information on family of Jonathan (John) David Cooper - B: 6-7-1847 possibly near Jerseyville, Illinois. D: 3-18-1924 - Kansas City, MO at home of son. Buried in Murray Cemetery near Willard, Greene CO, MO. Married (1) (Unknown) Blackwell abt. 1870 in MO, and were the parents of three sons: Frank - B: abt. 1870; Thomas J. - B: 1874; James Walter - B: 10-27-1878. Married (2) - Lydia "Jane" Blackwell (sister of first wife) abt. 1880, and were the parents of: Martha Elizabeth - B: 1-30-1883; Charles Cleveland - B: 5-19-1884; Peter Arthur - B: 4-29-1887; John - B: 10-15-1888. All seven children were born near Willard, Greene County, MO. Brother to Jonathan (John) David Cooper was: William Franklin Cooper - B: 7-1-1862 - Bowling Green, MO; D: 10-14-1922 - near Willard, Greene CO, MO. William's Children: Newton (Elton) - B: 9-24-1878; Johnathan English (Cap) - B: 10-26-1881; George William - B: 7-8-1892; Anna Belle - B: 4-9-1897. All of these children were born and died in Greene CO, MO. Parents of Jonathan (John) David and William Franklin: "Cap" Cooper - B: possibly abt. 1820 - no information is known. No information is known about the mother, if Jonathan (John) and William had brothers and sisters, or which state they may have come from before Illinois. Because the Cooper name is so common, (and because there are so many John and William Coopers, plus the father's name "Cap" might be a nickname), I have never been able to find any information on this family. Would really appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks..... Marty (Cooper) Brennecke - gmbrenne@terraworld.net
