George, curious about your William. I have a William Cooper in my family which has been a mystery to us. He was born around 1847 or 1849 in NC. The next we have is when he married my great grandmother in 1879 in Limestone Co Texas. I know it's a long shot, but I have found it pays to check everything. Marilyn Cooper Herring.

Wrong William. The William I'm looking for was in Illinois in 1833 and married Polly Towns. She could have been a second wife however. I don't have place of birth or parents of William. His son William H Cooper was brought to TX in 1853 by his mother, her sister and brother in law. Good Morning to all, I am back home only for a very short time. Was wondering if any of you have come across a Horace Cooper who married Eunice Phebe Van Buskirk probably in N. J. @ 1835. I have a great deal descending down from this line that I am willing to share but have nothing ascending up from Horace S. We believe that he died in La Grange Co., Ind. @ 1854. We have some information ascending on Eunice Phebe and will gladly share there. I have a Rebecca Cooper, born February 1825 n Ohio. She married Levi Hall in 1845 in Lawrence County, OH. They moved to Greenup County, Kentucky about 1848. They lived in Wurtland, Greenup County, KY. I believe that there was a Charles Cooper that lived in this area. I think his wifes name was Tabithat Willis. Does anyone have a complete list of his children? -----Original Message----- From: MOKYD@aol.com [mailto:MOKYD@aol.com] Sent: Saturday, November 25, 2000 6:54 AM To: COOPER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [COOPER-L] Cooper's from Ky and Michigan Hi, Is anyone researching or looking for The following Cooper families: John Wesley born 1849 m Mary Jane Watkins (Letcher, Floyd, Greenup Counties, Ky) Mose Cooper born 1881 Greenup County, Ky m Lillie Hampton. Dear Members of the COOPER Surname Discussion Group, Ezekiel M. COOPER and Ansel D. COOPER were full-blooded Mohegan Indians who were living on the Mohegan Reservation in New London County, Connecticut in 1861, according to the 1861 Census posted on the New London County, Connecticut USGenWeb site. A search of U.S. Census Indexes showed Ezekiel M. COOPER included in the 1860 Census of Norwich, New London County, Connecticut, page 972. If you share my interest in these two COOPERs, Ezekiel and Ansel, who were Mohegan Indians, please contact me, and we will explore such questions as how they came to take the COOPER surname, who their families were and what became of them after 1861! Thank you for any suggestions or information you may have. Randal W. Cooper Note: Another COOPER who was listed in the 1861 Mohegan Census of New London, Connecticut was Adelaide COOPER, but the percentage of Indian blood was not recorded.
