At this point do we know for certain that we are talking about the same Charles Daniel Cooper? We've had a terrible time trying to get beyond this Charles...we don't even know where to look anymore..so we're hoping to find a way in through the back door maybe by finding more info on Mary Whitbeck if they indeed were married. I have John W. Cooper born March 26, 1864 in Tennessee and died in Marion County, Arkansas, November 18, 1903. He had a brother, Berry, and a sister, Louisa Caledonia. His parents were John Cooper and Mary Adeline Maxie/Maxey/Massey. Mary Adeline Cooper was a widow in the 1900 Marion County census. I have not been able to find anything on any siblings of John Cooper, the father. I keep thinking that sometime there will be someone with a connection. You are about the first I have seen with Coopers from Tennessee. Could there possibly be a connection? Hi, I'm new to the list and I'm looking for info on Charles Daniel Cooper m. Susan E. Kear. They were in Nebraska in the 1800s and he received a pension for service in the Civil War and the Mexican War. I will write again with more specific information but I thought someone might recognize this couple right off. Thanks! Sorry, I should have included that Charles was first married to a Mary Margaret Whitbeck..He claimed in his pension papers that she had died in 1865/68 in St. Paul MN, but have since heard the story that he possibly didn't return to her after the civil war and she assumed he had died.
