Well, after sending this THEN checking the archives, I found Tobias Cooper b. 1800 in Madison Co KY. Thought I'd just toss in that Tyre Davis was born 1815 in Madison Co KY to Uriah and Elizabeth Harris Davis. Uriah was in Saline Co in 1818, I guess with family in tow? Chuck > Any one researching Tobias Cooper? > I'm looking for a Cindicia (?). > She was m. to Tyre Davis. Tyre had land > in the same section has Tobias Cooper in Saline Co Mo. > >
Any one researching Tobias Cooper? I'm looking for a Cindicia (?). She was m. to Tyre Davis. Tyre had land in the same section has Tobias Cooper in Saline Co Mo. My known Cooper line is of Hugh Cooper / Mary Kelso, son Capt Robert Cooper of Fishing Creek SC. Chuck Gibson

George: No I do not have any information on James Cooper in Bonham, TX. I am researching Yates and found one living with James Cooper in 1860. Bonham, Texas is in Fannin County, I believe. CSnow
C.B.Snow.... thanks for answering. I'm looking for a William H. Cooper prior to the Civil War. He was in TX and fought in the war but doesn't show up in Sabine Co records until later. Rumor was they came to Red River Co or area in 1853 from IL. The IL part is not rumor but the Red River area is. Thanks again. George
C.B. Snow.... do you have any information on the James Cooper family in Bonham Texas? What county is Bonham in? George
I am sorry, I mistakenly used Alexander for Albert. Do you know anything else about the Albert who's birth was May 12 1863, not Alexander? Thanks so much for any help. S. DeHart ~
Thanks anyway.....I thought perhaps they c/b brothers or cousins with so many named in one family matching my one family.....I have found in my other lines not only this possibility, but also connections. Good fortune in your search. mae kathleen
I have a Joseph COOPER married Margaret Ann HANSHEW daughter of Samuel HANSHEW and Nancy C. WILSON/HANSHEW. Margaret was born 21 June 1860 in Smyth County, VA. Joseph and Margaret married June 10 1876 in Bristol, Sullivan, Tenn. I found the family on 1880 Wythe County, VA. census with a daughter Laura 9/12 months of age. An elderly cousin gave me info that Margaret died 11 June 1896, but don't know where, buried where or any other information. I would like to know what happened to Joseph and Laura? Do you have any of these names in your line? Thanks for your help. Barbara Hanshew Schulz bhanshew@aol.com

Mae, Thank you for your reply. I'm sorry, but your information is no connection to my Alexander Cooper. My Coopers all came from the Mercer Co., Giles, Co., Summers Co., Raleigh Co., Fayette Co., and Tazewell Co. of Virginia and West Virginia. Carolyn
Hi Carol, While I have nothing to connect me to your Albert, it is interesting that I have Ethel, Albert and Florence Cooper in Phila. in the 1900's.....their father (a master bricklayer) was George Cooper who after coming to States in mid 1800's, lived first with relatives in Columbia City, Pa. and then moved to Phila. (Roxborough section) at some time after marriage to Mary Ann Hurlston, also from England, and several of their children were born. I do not know where in England he came from. My mother, Elsie Priscilla, was the youngest of George and Mary Ann's large family. Might their be a connection? Thank you. mae kathleen
I can't say for sure about that particular one in the census, but I am aware of several other Cooper-Yates connections, going back even into early North Carolina. And our Coopers are also in TX. I am also especially interested in your SCOGGINS,too, as my husband's paternal grandmother was a SCOGIN(and other variations.) Would be glad to compare notes.
