    2. Larry Garrett
    3. I am looking for information about the ancestry of DANIEL H. COOPER, my maternal great-grandfather. He was born 14 January 1867 in Hancock County, INDIANA; was married to Phoebe Rosa Johnson on 14 January 1891; and died on 15 August 1931 in Hancock County, Indiana. So far as I know all these dates are correct. It is possible Daniel's father was John W. Cooper and his mother was Sarah (maiden name unknown), but this is where all my information stops. If anyone can help me locate Daniel H. Cooper's parents, and further back if possible, as well as their geographic origins, I would be most grateful. Thank you. Larry Garrett

    3. Hi Lois I know it's a bit late but I do want to let you know I received your message about your mother. I am sorry for your loss. I hope you are doing alright. I know that the death of your mother must have brought a big change in your life and that you must miss her a great deal. I do pray that god will give you comfort when you need it. I have never checked with you to find out if Uncle Carl's DNA was of any help. Did it connect to any others on the list? Hopefully it gave some kind of a lead. I know that I mentioned my sons accident to you. Well he is not doing well at all. He had another surgery a couple of weeks ago. The bone in his leg is not healing. The doctors were able to order a bone stimulater which cost him $5,300.00 and the insurance will only pay $2,000.00. He was lucky though because the company agreed to write off the balance. He hasn't worked now for over 6 months. The bone stimulater didn't work, so they did a bone graff from his hip to his leg, put a metal plate around the bone and then put the screws back into his leg to pin it together. If this doesn't work then there is nothing left they can do. They will remove all bone between his knee and ankle and just put in a steel rod. But there can be problems with that also. He could get an infectiion and even lose his leg, but thats the worst that can happen and we hope it doesn't get to that point.. All we can do now is wait and hope that this bone graff takes. Hope everything else is going well for you. Take care Sylvia

    1. Philip Henry Cooper
    2. Gini
    3. Barbara- For a moment I thought you and I were cousins, through Philip Henry COOPER. That was the name of my great-grandfather, but he was born in 1844 in Camden, NY. He graduated from the Naval Academy during the Civil War, and while he was stationed on a ship in Mobile Bay married Addie Lou Payne. Her family disowned her for marrying a Yankee, and she went to live with her inlaws, where she died in childbirth. Next COOPER married Sarah Lawrence STUART, and they had 2 sons - one of whom was my grandfather. Sarah died when my grandfather was 3, and he married a third time to Katherine FOOTE, and had 2 more children. We have found that Philip Henry COOPER's great-grandfather, Christian COOPER, came over from Germany in the Palitinate Migration, and the name was originally Kupfer or Kuper. I'm always looking for cousins, too. Gini

    1. [COOPER] Native American/Cooper connections/and a link
    2. Hi everyone I have wached and seen some references to various tribes involved w/Coopers. I want to enter mine. Mine is Blackfoot. Mildred Ann Cooper had this heritage. Date of birth unk, but she was m: in Linn County, KS on 1/29/1877. She was born to Thomas Cooper and Sarah Jane Powell. I have long tried to find out if Blackfoot came through the Cooper or Powell line. The link I am giving to you may or may be of help to someone. It is a link to a HUGE Cherokee site. AOL lost my site but just a few days ago I got it back. :) If I remember rightly it has lots of Coopers. Great site!
