    1. Re: [COOPER] Arkansas Cooper's - 1870 James Cooper family census lookup
    2. Tom Smith
    3. Curt, You may want to check out "J. H. Cooper" on the 1870 census in Sebastian Co., Ark. (Big Creek Township, page 89, lines 19 through 25, dwelling/family #54). There are a couple of descrepancies in names and sex, but I think there are too many similarities for this not to be your James Cooper. Good luck. 1. Cooper in Missouri
    2. I was told by the DAR Library that Christopher Cooper's book was taken to Missouri by Christopher Cooper, Jr. That was the last it was seen. Does any one know of its existence? If so, could you tell me if Jane Cooper born 1802 appears in that book. Part of it is missing, no doubt, as the page telling about Christopher Cooper, Sr. and Jane Brown's marriage was sent to prove Christopher's Rev. War pension by his wife, Jane Brown Cooper. Also the oldest children's births were recorded on that page. However, the pages that are left are very important to prove the relationship of the younger children to Christopher and Jane. Thanks for your help. Barbara

Think I will have to send a letter to their historical society or someplace to find it. I have no information on Nathaniel's parentage nor do I have any idea who he might have been travelling with. I should check the census records for the names of the families you mentioned to see if any of them are nearby. I don't know where in PA my gr grandfather, Hulbert DeWitt (he went by DeWitt H.) was born but apparently their second child, James FitzJames was b in Frankfort, KY. The parents of Wilhelmenia Pepper are buried near Pultneyville - the mother was also Wilhelmenia and I am wondering if he maiden name might have been DeWitt as she was from Holland. Have forgotten the father's name and don't seem to have either in my database for some reason. I know there were also Pardees in the area which a now deceased cousin of my Dad's said was Nathaniel's middle name so that may be a clue to his parents if I could find a marriage record for them - ah! but where? Death records in that time frame? Land and wills or probates - I still have a great deal of work to do yet and it is slow and difficult to do it from far away Oregon. I just ordered the 37 marker DNA test to be done on my brother's 12 marker DNA he submitted for me to FamilyTree Dna. Hopefully that will be helpful. Please keep in touch and I will check the census records I can retreive through the Godfrey Library site and will let you know what I might find. Carroll (Cooper) Summers Hi Carroll, would you believe Pultneyville is the area my ancestors went to abt 1808!!!! I do not know about Nathaniel, but the Coopers in Williamson or Pultneyville came from NJ, Vermont and NY. Located on the migration path westward, it was a stopping off point for many travelers. I do not know the all the childrens names of my Coopers, but the Cowles and Peppers were right there too. Do you have other names that traveled with your Nathaniel?? There was a Sarah Cooper that married a Cowles, I think, from another posting a couple of years ago, and I will see if I can find it. 2. My William Cooper was born August 27, 1820. I believe he was born in Hamilton County, Ohio. In 1844, he married Lucinda Harris (1822 - 1920, daughter of Rebecca Booram and Richard Harris) also of Hamilton County. William died in Dec. of 1892. The Coopers listed on the previous email don't seem to fit. So I guess that Daniel C. Cooper is out. I need a Jesse born 1785 and a George who died in 1814 or 1815. 1. Samuel Cooper date change
    2. Lillian, I mistakenly gave you the info for the wrong Samuel Cooper. What I gave you was for William's son, Samuel not his brother. His brother Samuel would have been born sometime in the 1820s, most probably in Hamilton Cty., Ohio. Sharon

    1. Re: [COOPER] Samuel
    2. Lillian, My Samuel was born Oct. 6, 1846. Since his family lived there, I'm fairly certain that he was born in Hamilton Co. Ohio. Sharon
