    1. RE: [COOPER] My Cooper line
    2. Pauline Harper
    3. Hi Joy, do you possibly know the parents of Elizabeth Richmond, who married Wm.Cooper? I do believe your Wm is the brother of my Thomas, who lived in Monmouth County, pos Shrewsbury, circa 1808. I believe there was another brother, John, who did not leave Shrewsbury when Wm and Thos did, but I have not worked up all his info yet. I have a Richmond, that married a Conk, Monmouth County, circa 1800, and that could tie the families together. MY cousin Ken Cooper, who died a couple of years ago, said the Cooper family was English. The Margaret Cooper, who left a will in NJ, mid 1700's I believe was a Covert, which would make This Thos Coopers wf possible Bodine, who then moved to Somerset County, NJ. And the children do not match what I believe to be the children of my Thomas and mary, Monmouth County. If I follow the other lines that interconnect with my Cooper, I am with the Conk, Cottrell, Gardiner, Lewis, and others, that lead me to Rhode Island, and Mass. I believe the children of Wm Cooper and Elizabeth Richmond are similar to children names similar to the descendents of John Cooper of Southampton, so where are we???? I believe I read, and I cannot find where, that land was available in Ohio, and that is where the brothers planned on moving, and then land was being offered in the Phelps and Gorham Purchase, NY, and Thos decided on NY, Wm on Ohio. There was a land prospectus , written by a Thos Cooper, hailing the merits of NY and the wonderful land available there, and which Thos Cooper wrote that????? Do you have any more info on your Wm??? I can trace some of the family names of aforesaid Margaret Covert to Philip Veren Jr, of Salem, Mass, who is connected with my BAlch, Gardner, Conant, but what does that prove about Thomas??? Well, maybe this brainstorming will make things fit together, and if not, at least it gives me a chance to share some of my work.......and what say you????
