    3. Since I am not a computer expert, I have sent an email to my computer tech asking him to tell me which program activates this firewall in XP. I don't expect to hear from him until at least Monday, so please be patient. I believe I have it and know how to activate it; however, I want to make sure before I send it along. Lois

    1. Re: [COOPER] RootsWeb
    2. Ok, how many of the AOLers have dialup? How many have firewalls? I recently added DSL and a firewall. Since then I have not been able to access FreeBMD which I did before on a daily basis. I also have at the same time upgraded to AOL.9.0 Optimized. I can get the Home Search page at FreeBMD, but when I try a search I get an error page. That page refered me to a fix page at Norton and when I added the fix (you have to add freebmd.rootsweb.com manually to your web content) I still could not get thru. However, I noticed that the only pages which sent pop-ups thru were rootsweb before that (they are now blocked by both AOL and by the firewall) and the only thing listed as blocked on the default settings for the firewall was anybody trying to gather info on visited sites. Could that have something to do with it? I cannot get to any of the pages that were just refered to where I always could before. And that is after manually adding rootsweb.com and the helpdesk.rootsweb.com and passwordcentral.rootsweb.com to the webcontent page. What I find interesting is that I can still access ancestry.com and never had to manually add them to the list, but last nite for a while there they were crashing my computer everytime I tried to access them which I was quite determinedly doing as I was trying to answer a question about a particular census page from a couple of cousins. I spent most of the nite rebooting my computer. Then this a.m. the problem went away. Annie in Minnesota

Since I got ride of the firewall and he activated the XP one, I have had absolutely no problem going anywhere on the web. And, I use Netscape and have opted to block all pop-ups. Works great. Lois

    3. I came across this and remember a posting about Nathaniel Cooper who married Lucinda Cowles, d/Russell Cowles and Wilhelmina Pepper of Pultneyville, Ontario County, now Wayne County NY. There was a Nathaniel , native of NH, resided in Monroe County, NY , settled in Town of Leon, Cattaraugus County, NY about 1821. He was associated with a Daniel Dye. Check further Cattaraugus County, Town of Leon, maybe you will find something that pertains to your Nathaniel P. Cooper. Monroe County NY adjoins Wayne and Ontario County, and would be on the trek westward…Perils in NY --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). 1. Lavinia Ella Dawn married a Cooper
    2. Does anyone have any marriage information on Lavonia Ella Tinsley Dawn. She was born in Whitfield County,Ga in 1853, she first married Charles H. Dawn in 1875 in Whitfield County,Ga, he was killed in 1879 on his job on the railroad. Lavonia Ella married again to a Cooper, I cannot seem to find what his given name was, she had a son Leonard E Dawn from her first marriage and she was living in the household with him in each of the census records I found her in. They were living in Spalding County, Ga also, Newton County,Ga and Anderson County S C after she left Whitfield County,Ga. I am having trouble finding where she married her Cooper husband. Thanks a lot for any information. Leona
