    3. Looking for info on Civil War veteran John A. Cooley who served with Company H of the 87th Pennsylvania Infantry, a regiment mustered in York in September 1861. Cooley, John A., Pvt; mustered Sep 19, 1861; killed in action July 9, 1864, at the battle of Monocacy; born @1838/39; a plasterer by trade; 5' 10", light hair, gray eyes There are Cooleys buried in Cumberland County, but I do not know the precise location of John Cooley's home. Company H was recruited in the Wellsville, York County area.
