Maureen, Please do not give up on the your Cooley line. Who is your Grandfather? name and where he was born. YOur Grandmother's name and maiden name? I have been trying to connect to the Cooley line that lived in Mass and CT as well. My George Cooley brn 1787 in Somers, Tolland Co. CT. He married a Lydia Hubbard in 1809. They must have moved to Mass where most of their children were born. I find George without Lydia in 1850 thru 1881 where he dies in 1881 living with one of his son's Francis H. Cooley brn 1822 -Mass both in Kankakee Co., IL. My relative, is a brother to Francis - his name is Frederick L. Cooley brn 1822.
