Hi Judy, Wonder if we may be hunting the same general family. My husband's line has Cooleys in Clark Co. IL and possibly came from southern IN. about that time. Some time ago, I described a photo I had and was told that this was the Cooley parents of his 2nd grt-grdm. She married a Misner in Clark Co. IL and their dau., Martha Misner, married Balsom Marion Bailey from OH, Hamilton or Union Co. we think. The Cooley couple in the photo, b. abt. 1800, appear to be or have Native Americans ancestry. Both of them have distinctive looking features and coloring that could be Native Am. They are in european dress, but he has a traditional feather adornment in his hair. If the info is correct about Martha, she may be half Native Am. Balsom is also rumored to be as much as half Native Am. Balsom was born about 1855 and presumably, so was Martha. Their many children were probably born about 1885-1910. Many of these children and their descendants are believed to be in Clark and Richland Co. IL. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jackson To: COOLEY-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, January 10, 2003 4:55 AM Subject: [Cooley] COOLEY/JACKSON Good Morning I am new to the list and am researching the following which is not much: I am seeking information on Abigail Cooley who married Hiram Jackson in Clark Co Ohio May 14, 1821. Am trying to find if they might be the parents of Truman Jackson who was born around 1922 in Clark County Ohio. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Judy Jackson ==== COOLEY Mailing List ==== Query lists are okay but please try to limit them to say, half a dozen names. Any more than that and many people just won't read them. ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
