I'm going to have to leave this one to another Cooley to answer. I don't have information on an Alfred. However, Joel Cooley (b1800) was living in Washington Co., FL in 1850. Allen Cooley, Jr was living in Holmes Co., FL in 1860. Both of these counties were neighboring counties to Jackson Co., FL. How about it? Is there any other Cooley who can answer his questions? Joyce
