ALFRED COOLEY (my g-grandfather) b. 14 Apr 1834 Columbia, Henry Co. AL, d. 12 Jan 1920, Dothan, Houston Co. AL. Indications are that his father was born in NC and his mother in SC. Names are not known. Alfred was 15 and a sister Louisa Cooley was 17 on 1850 Census Coffee Co. AL. He was in the Confederate Service, Florida 11th Inf. Co. F, Jul 1863-1865. (1) m. Elmira Aires/Ayers late 1950s or early 60's in AL. Children are: James b. 18 Sep 1860 Coffee Co. AL, d. 6 Oct 1934 Polk Co. FL. William Wesley b. 31 Dec 1864, d. 9 Nov 1900 Houston Co. AL (2) m.
