Hello List - I hope you can help me with this question. Does anyone know what Luke COOLEY's military service was? He's always referred to as "Capt." Luke Cooley, but I can't find any record of his service. Today, in the DAR Library (now open on Saturdays!) I found him in the Public Records of the Colony of Connecticut, on 10 June 1768 he was one of the "Representatives or Deputies of the Freemen of the several towns .... Capt. Luke Cooley, for Somers. ..." The Library also has several books listing CT men who served in the French and Indian War and in colonial wars. I couldn't find him in either, but just looked quickly because I was running out time and energy. Both books are indexed, and some COOLEYs are listed, but not Luke. Maybe he served in MA?
