Samuel Cooley (also variously spelled coley and Coole) was one of the original settlers of the Massachusettes Bay Colony. He, and several others in his family, emigrated from Great Munden, Hertfordshire, England in the 1620's. There are several descendants named Samuel, also. His father was John Coley, born I believe around 1586 in England. Hope this helps.
