    1. [Cooley] [COOLEY-L]Noah,Seth,Warren Cooley-Clarissa House- Lydia Wetherell-Sarah Chandler
    2. Mr.Carl Haskins
    3. Hello Fellow Listers, Please help if you can. The problem: Seth COOLEY married Clarissa HOUSE. Seth had a brother, Warren COOLEY married Amarillus SEGER. The father of both men was a Noah COOLEY. My records* indicate that Noah was born 1780 in Long Meadow Mass. and had these brothers by Lydia WETHERELL. The Cooley Genealogy book says the only Noah born about this time (1766)was from Springfield and married Sarah CHANDLER. He had only 2 children, twins, Hannah & Haneen. My records indicate that Noah and Lydia had a son Hannan who married ? CHANDLER!!* The remedy?: Please help me find the records of Seth & Warrens birth, possibly in Endfield or Manchester Conn.or Springfield, Mass.- and prove or disprove that the father of Warren and Seth was the same Noah COOLEY, son of George Colton COOLEY. Also any verification that Noah married Lydia WETHERELL. Thanks soooooooooooo much in advance, Carl *contained in the Haskins Family Tree written in @ 1940 by my Grandfather. He personally knew "aunt Mary", Seths daughter. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo. http://search.yahoo.com

    3. I am passing this on because it has popped up on several other lists I belong to. This is a SCAM, and we all need to be careful. Happy Hunting! ----------------------------------------------- Hi Everyone: The old genealogy scam is back. www.genseekers.com Behind the password protection are links to the free genealogy on-line. There is no content of their own. In order to get the "5-day free trial" you have to surrender a credit card or bank account number. You have to cancel within 5 days or you get dinged. Guess what? The cancellation e-mail bounces. Does this surprise you? One person who recently fell for the come-on had his/her account dinged not once, but twice. It is time to remind folks on your state and county mailing lists about these scoundrels. It has been a couple of years since we have mentioned this. Permission is granted to pass this on.

    3. Electronic attack slows Internet Saturday, January 25, 2003 Posted: 8:47 AM EST (1347 GMT) WASHINGTON (AP) -- Traffic on the many parts of the Internet slowed dramatically for hours early Saturday, the apparent effects of a fast-spreading, virus-like infection that overwhelmed the world's digital pipelines and interfered with Web browsing and delivery of e-mail. . . . . . . The virus-like attack, which began about 12:30 a.m. EST, sought out vulnerable computers on the Internet to infect using a known flaw in popular database software from Microsoft Corp., called "SQL Server 2000." But the attacking software code was scanning for victim computers so randomly and so aggressively -- sending out thousands of probes each second -- that it overwhelmed many Internet data pipelines. "This is like Code Red all over again," said Marc Maiffret, an executive with eEye Digital Security, whose engineers were among the earliest to study samples of the attack software. "The sheer number of attacks is eating up so much bandwidth that normal operations can't take place." "The impact of this worm was huge," agreed Ben Koshy of W3 International Media Ltd., which operates thousands of Web sites from its computers in Vancouver. "It's a very significant attack."
