I have just updated my Richard Wright of Rowan County, NC web page to rev 11 containing 19,552 people including 18,638 direct descendants. Names include Allen, Colglazier, Cooley, Gilstrap, Goss, Hazel, Hill, Hinds, Johnson, Marshall, Martin, Monical, Morgan, Moss, Mullenix, Parrish, Purlee, Ratts, Wright and Zink. Most of these families emigrated to Indiana, then to Illinois, , Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. The major update is the use of the SSDI and Pierce and Salem, Washington county, Indiana cemetery books to list death dates, burial sites and residences. Much of the information that was listed as 'private' is now available since death dates are included. further, close relatives have been included. I have also updated data based upon the Frederick Goss book and a number of inputs from correspondents. For details, click on the Rev no. at the top of the page. More to come!! I am interested in knowing if anyone know of Andrew Wood Cooley. He has connections to Frances H. Cooley of Kankakee Co., IL. 1850-1890's. I would like to know Andrew Wood Cooley's relationship to the Cooley line. In kind Mary McKillop
Donna, Thanks for replying. I have researched my husbands line - the McKillop's and a few of the relatives did make it to NYC about that time. I have the McKillop line going back to Glendun, Cushendun, Co. Antrim, Ireland from current back to 1840's. Thanks for the info. HOPING to connect with any COOLEY researcher that has info on a George COOLEY brn 1787 in Ct. and Lydia Hubbard. This couple married in 1809 in Granville, Hampden Co., MASS - apparently, this couple left Granville and moved somewhere else. I find them without Lydia in Kankakee Illinois in 1850 and up to when he (george died in 1881( They had the following children: Harriott - died 1812 Frances H. brn 1822 Frederick L. brn 1822 ( this writers line - not sure if connected to this line) and many others I found some info on the LDS site and it has not convinced me that my Frederick is a son of this George Cooley and Lydia Hubbard. I am hoping some one has more info to share with me. Thanks Mary Stokely McKillop
Stephen, You mentioned you are from Salem, OR. So am I and I wanted to know more about your Cooley line. My family and I are stumped. My great grandfather, Ralph Herbert Cooley, was born in Suring, WI in 1890. The family moved to OR some time after his brother Ellis was born in 1892. He married Lola Beryl Cooley in Salem. They had two children: Richard LeRoy and Margaret Jane. The only thing we know about his parents for sure are their names: Warren Cooley and Lusira Jane Powers. If you have any information about these people, my family would greatly appreciate it and I will help with your line any way I can. In the 1850 census for Marion Co. KY, I found a Reuben Cooley 81 Elizabeth Cooley 45 Stephen L. Cooley 8 Cornelius Cooley 6 Lucretia J. Cooley 4 I believe this Reuben Cooley was born in NC and Elizabeth is his second wife Elizabeth "Betty" Followell. Stephen, Cornelius and Lucretia are Reuben's children. Also in the same house is a Nancy Smothers age 39, Joseph Smothers age 10, and James Smothers age 5. Then there is one last entry a Elizabeth Cooley age 18. Does anyone know if the Smothers and the Cooley's are related? How does Elizabeth Cooley age 18 fit into this family? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping someone out there can help me with any of the following: I finally found the Family Tree Maker site I was searching, and in searching Fanny ALLEY, it comes up with the following Columns; name, date (blank), location (blank), found on (Internet) and then lists the Link. In clicking on the link it says it cannot find the site where the link should take you. The link column says as follows: Linked Family Tree including Samuel CASSADY ...: Isaac COOLEY Mother: Fanny ALLEY Family 1: Thomas Wilkerson/n... It lists this link several times with variations, and includes the name Sarah S. COOLEY In searching the name Sarah S. COOLEY it lists several links to Samuel CASSADY including the one as follows: Linked Family tree including Samuel CASSADY COOLEY (1828-Unknown) Sarah S. COOLEY Birth: 1828 Death:/n... There are several duplicate or other references to Sarah COOLEY, whom I am assuming is a daughter of Isaac and Fanny ALLEY, as I believe Isaac COOLEYand Fanny ALLEY married in 1825, making a birthdate of 1828 for Sarah fit in nicely. The other references list a Donald Wayne ERICKSON, Gail Kathleen ADNEY, Cassius ALLEY, Wilkerson ALLEY, Sarah BUNYARD, Thomas Wilkerson ALLEY, Charles WOLF, Elsie ALLEY, Lyman ALLEY, Omer ALLEY, Mary PORTER. If anyone can provide any info on the above, I would be extremely grateful as this is the first hope I have found on Fanny ALLEY and the Isaac COOLEY line. Stephen Carlile Salem, Oregon
