    2. Hello Pam, I re-read your message about your Louis Cooley and you state that Una K. Cooley was buried in La Salle, ?? Would that be in Illinois?? I have a Lewis W. Cooley brn in La Salle, IL in 1854. I have him on the 1860 and the 1870 census living with his parents, Frederick L. Cooley and Jane Dodge, my Great-Grandparents. I cannot locate him on the 1880 census. I am curious if he went to Michigan?? not sure, just "hunting". Wish I knew more about this Lewis Cooley. 2. Maureen, Please do not give up on the your Cooley line. Who is your Grandfather? name and where he was born. YOur Grandmother's name and maiden name? I have been trying to connect to the Cooley line that lived in Mass and CT as well. My George Cooley brn 1787 in Somers, Tolland Co. CT. He married a Lydia Hubbard in 1809. They must have moved to Mass where most of their children were born. I find George without Lydia in 1850 thru 1881 where he dies in 1881 living with one of his son's Francis H. Cooley brn 1822 -Mass both in Kankakee Co., IL. My relative, is a brother to Francis - his name is Frederick L. Cooley brn 1822. So, hopefully we all can help each other with this elusive Cooley line. Mary Stokely McKillop

    2. Hello. Do you have any names for brothers and sisters of your MI Cooley line? I have ancestors who moved to MI from OH. My great great grandfather Warren Cooley and his parents, Harrison and Harriet moved to MI from OH, OH from MA, but I don't have any brother or sister names to connect with anyone and I've only found one person who has this line and I can't seem to be able to get in touch with her again. Harrison's wife's maiden name was Day and his parents were Chester Cooley and Azuba Johnson. If you have any info that would help, I'd be happy to share what I have and then we could work together for the rest. 3. I have been watching the postings about COOLEYS in MO. with interest. I have a family of COOLEYS in MO. (Pattonsburg, Daviess Co.) about 1875-1880. My main interest is Moses Cooley and his wife Ellen Ryan. They moved to Pattonsburg from Moultrie Co. IL. They had one possibly two sons born in Pattonsburg. Avery and Royden. Moses had a brother James (and wife Ann, Annie) that lived close by. Ellen divorced Moses on grounds of destitution. She moved to Smith Co. KS. to be near her people. There is no more information available on Moses as he came up missing. I also do not know where the brother James and family moved on to. Moses and James parents were William J. and Annie French Cooley. Does anyone with Missouri Cooleys have a connection here? Marilyn Johnson emlejay@midusa.net

    3. Steve - I am a Cooley descendant and also my maiden name wasWaters. The Waters line has been a real problem. I can trace my great grandfather and his siblings back to 1870 GA but apparently they were orphaned shorly before that. They were living with others, one of which was a Sarah Waters Moore (aunt?). I know who Sarah's father was but I cannot prove the relationship with Sarah. I even made a trip to Worth and Dooly Co but found that the court houses had been burned at one time or another. Any ideas? 3. Hi Diane, You and I are descended from the same line. The last child listed by you for William and Elizabeth COOLEY was Tempie Ada, who was my great grandmother. I've corresponded with another descendant, and I have a slightly different listing of the children. I don't know much about this line yet-- don't have William's father-- but I do have some information about Elizabeth's parentage. She was Elizabeth JONES. Will be happy to share what I have by email or mail. Glad we could connect, Linda Wood Parrish Rootsweb Sponsor

    2. I'm sorry I can't help you. We, too would like that information. I'm sure they were buried in Clarke Co., MS where they lived, but have no confirmation. I would appreciate any information you may have on them. Joyce

    2. I'm going to have to leave this one to another Cooley to answer. I don't have information on an Alfred. However, Joel Cooley (b1800) was living in Washington Co., FL in 1850. Allen Cooley, Jr was living in Holmes Co., FL in 1860. Both of these counties were neighboring counties to Jackson Co., FL. How about it? Is there any other Cooley who can answer his questions? Joyce

    3. Hi everyone, I also have some Cooleys in Carroll Co, MS. I don't know how or if they are related to other MS Cooleys. Maybe someone will recognize the names. I have Nancy Cooley born about 1820 in TN. She was found in Tuscaloosa Co, AL when she married Johnson Gailey in 1841. About 1849 they moved to Carroll Co, MS. I believe Nancy's father could possibly be George Cooley as he is listed on the 1830 Weakley Co, TN census, then appeared on the 1840 Tuscaloosa Co, AL census, then 1850 Carroll Co, MS census. There are also other Cooleys living in Tuscaloosa at this time: Hiram Cooley, Lawson Cooley, James Cooley, Charles Cooley, Benjamin Cooley & Jerian Cooley. I wonder if these may be related to George. If anyone has any info on any of these I'd appreciate contacing me please. Thanks. Teresa in England April1692@email.msn.com
