1 January 2009 Roanoke Times Roanoke, Virginia Doris Jean Cookus Wilhelm, 83, of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord and her husband, Mark, on Wednesday, December 31, 2008. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and also a lifelong member of Villa Heights Baptist Church. Doris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Lou Ostendorff; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Page Wilhelm; four grandchildren, Laura Wilhelm, Joshua Wilhelm, Ani Ostendorff, Jenna Killingsworth and her husband, Jody; and the great-granddaughter, Paloma Jean Killingsworth. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Oakey's East Chapel with Pastor Jake Huffman officiating. Interment followed in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family received friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral.
