According to ChicagoGenealogy.com, Chicago marriage applications and licenses didn't begin carrying more than the most basic information (brides and grooms names and ages but not parents) until the 1960s. If you know the church where your ancestors married, you might find more in the church records, some of which are on line. Diane

Based on the info I have, they were from Krakau, Poland and spoke Yiddish, so I assume they were Jewish. I guess I'll need to track down Jewish communities in Chicago and work from there. Here are the specifics on the folks I am looking for.  I appreciate any suggestions on which synagogue they might have attended. Morris FRIEDNER b. Dec 1871 in Russia or Austria -- it looks to be a disputed region held by Russia, Austria, Poland and the Ukraine at various times. Spoke Yiddish. Amelia LUBECK b. Mar 1872 in Germany or Austria. Spoke Yiddish. Morris FRIEDNER married Amelia LUBECK in Cook County, Chicago, IL on 5 May 1892 by a Justice of the Peace. Different documents provide different dates for his arrival between 1884-1887.  He was naturalized in Cook County, IL on 27 August 1892. 1892: Resided at 260 Maxwell Street, Cook County, IL 1893: Eldest child Ruby (or Ralph) was born. 1894: Second child Bella (or Isabel) was born. 1896: Resided in New York City where the third child Ernest was born. from here on out they resided in NY.....
