I wonder how much of it will be available that quickly, or if they'll go by certain states/counties first... Toni ----------------------------- Listers, FYI - I just logged into Ancestry and it indicated 68 days to the 1940 census. Yeah!!! Hi Toni, All the 1940 census will be available on April 2. The scanned census images will be provided on several web sites. BUT, you will need to know the E.D. where your families lived. Then you page through the images to that E.D. And then you need to read the entire E.D. to find your folks. A little cumbersome but doable. Ancestry and Family Search (at least) will start working on indexes with volunteers who offer to help. But it will take some months before an index for the entire U.S. will be available.
