    3. Does anyone on the list have access to a street map of Chicago in the 1870's? My great, great grandparents, John Carney and Mary Duffy, had a son, Patrick William Kearney, who died at age 3 in 1879. The death certificate lists the address as N.E. Corner of Halstad at Hastings. When I look at today's map, I see that Hastings Street doesn't connect with Halstad. Pat Pat Spears 678-404-5862 (home phone) spearspat.blogspot.com (my genealogy blog)

    3. Pat, I found the following University of Chicago website with 1870s maps available: http://www.lib.uchicago.edu/lib/public/full_screen.html?http://www.lib.uchicago.edu/e/su/maps/chifire/G4104-C6-1872-B5/ Look for Blue Island Ave running at a diag sw to ne to help you find Hastings. I don't see an intersection with Halstad. It looks like Hastings ends a couple of blocks East of Halstad or that Hastings is renamed to Maxwell after the intersection with Blue Island Ave. Dan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pat Spears" <spearspat@hotmail.com> To: <cook-co-il@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, April 27, 2012 11:54 AM Subject: [COOK-CO-IL] Hastings at Halstad Does anyone on the list have access to a street map of Chicago in the 1870's?
