    2. When my husband was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri in 1961 we lived up in the hills in Waynesville, MO. We had a large drum out by the road where we had to burn the garbage. They would come for the bottles and cans once a week but this was the first time I had to recycle. I really enjoyed doing that. But you had to be careful. It was a pretty hot fire and it was easy to get marshmallow-inferno-on-a-stick. We also burned the garbage. I liked that job.
