If any of you are looking for immigration info., ship manifests, etc. check out Ancestry's new information. It's free for the rest of the month, so even those of us that don't have a subscription, can explore in the comfort of our own homes. I'm so excited, I have found 3 of the 4 immigrants that have eluded me over the years. I had checked Ellis Island and Castle Garden websites, but now finally found them on ship manifests. Remember, try several spellings, several members of the family, and even nicknames. Good luck! I'm searching for the last immigrant I need again tonight. I agree! I have been checking it today using the free service. I just found my husband's great great grandmother who came from Germany in 1866. And she was with a brother who we never knew of until now! Now we have names, dates and the port of departure and arrival. Guess the laundry won't get done tonight.
