I am looking for any one with connections to this family-- or any information on them. Emma Marx Sobeck and her husband August Sobeck came to Chicago on 2 Nov 1911 it said they were going to cousin Bertha Roed (Rued) at 2545 Milwaukee Ave. Chicago, IL I research Bertha and am trying to figure out whose cousin she is, or what relationship she may have to my gg aunt Emma Marx Sobeck. Bertha Hoppe was born Dec 1874 she arrived from Berlin in Dec 1893 coming through Baltimore to her uncle in Chicago. On 25 Feb 1895 she married Mathias (Mathew) Bohn/ Bohen. On 1 Apr 1896 their son Walter was born. Mathew died before 1908 as Bertha remarried then to Albert Roed (b. abt 1861 Norway) In all future census records and the WW1 draft cards, Walter adopted the ROED surname and he died in Mar 1963, Walter married Florence Kilmek b. Feb 1898 PA (d/o Frank and Katy) They had a son Walter Jr. b. 21 Jun 1918 died 9 Apr 1978 Polk Co. FL I have yet to find Bertha after 1910, or Albert. Thanks Laurie
