    1. [COOK-CO-IL] Riverview closing - 1967
    2. Tom Mueller
    3. I have many grEAT! memories of Riverview too. They closed in 1967, after they had issued season tickets and announced their Spring opening. It was quite sudden. Management said it was purely a financial move, but there was much speculation that it had to do with racial issues. A number of good books on are out there, including: Adams, Judith A. The American Amusement Park Industry. Twayne Publishers, Boston: 1991. ISBN: 0805798218. Others (that I have not read or seen) are: 1. Riverview Amusement Park / Author: Haugh, Dolores. Publication: Charleston, SC : Arcadia Pub., 2004 2. Riverview, gone but not forgotten : a photo-history, 1904-1967 / Author: Wlodarczyk, Chuck. Publication: Evanston, Ill. : Schori Press, 1977 3. Riverview, kingdom of magic Author: Hintze, Clarence.; Berbert, George. Publication: [Cincinnati?] : Kelleher, Russell, & Young, 1991 Document: English : Visual Material : Videorecording : VHS tape 4. Laugh your troubles away : the complete history of Riverview Park, Chicago, Illinois / Author: Gee, Derek.; Lopez, Ralph. Publication: Livonia, MI : Sharpshooter Productions, 2000 7. Riverview & 1933 World's Fair Author: Callaway, John D.; Karp, Cathleen. Publication: [Chicago] : Network Chicago/WTTW, 2000 Document: English : Visual Material : Videorecording : VHS tape Tom Mueller > AHHHH what a place!!! Riverview Park!! In 1960 I > was 12 years old.
