Sounds like a great database..do you know which database? Hi Lucille, I have found that many States have databases on-line, at various different sites. Most are not part of Ancestry or any other genealogy subscriptions. They are well worth your time, in trying to locate. This particular database is part of our University [North Dakota State University], which has a Division of Regional Studies. For example, here is a marriage record index for Cass County, North Dakota. http://www.lib.ndsu.nodak.edu/ndirs/bio&genealogy/casscountymarri ages.html >From that page, click on Biography & Genealogy, at the top. Or, click here - http://www.lib.ndsu.nodak.edu/ndirs/bio&genealogy/index.html You will see from the menu on the left, the databases they have on- line. The one I found Gramps filing for Divorce is the Divorce Records, 1870 - 1942. I knew my uncle had filed for divorce, and was looking for the dates when I stumbled on Grampa [same surname]. This Library also has a large collection of Germans From Russia, which may be worth the time to look at, if you have relatives that are Germans From Russia. And to keep this Cook County related, Grandpa was born in Cook County and both he and a brother moved to Cass Co., ND.
