Hi Bert, This is a Cook County, Illinois list. You may have better luck posting to a New Mexico list. Before you do that, you will likely need to narrow down the date - and place - of death. I'm not familiar with NM research, but you could start by checking the Social Security Death Index (SSDI) at rootsweb.com. A quick search of that database found the following: OLIVER F WERGIN 21 Aug 1905 11 Jul 1998 (V) 88312 (Alto, Lincoln, NM) 391-28-2905 Wisconsin AND! OLIVER F WERGIN 29 Mar 1932 09 Feb 1999 (V) 88312 (Alto, Lincoln, NM) 398-28-6539 Wisconsin A good place to start might be to email a library in that area. I'm a Reference Librarian in Citrus County, Florida and do those types of requests almost daily. Another free database at Rootsweb is the Obituary Daily Times, which comes up with the following: WERGIN, Oliver F; 92; Ruidoso NM; Milwaukee J-S (WI); 1998-9-17; mschears I'm not sure how to decipher all of that, but it should be easy to find out which library serves Ruidoso, NM. They would probably be your best source for the full obituary. WorldConnect (find it with a rootsweb search) has two hits you will want to see. You'll probably have to visit a library with Ancestry to view the records, unless you have a subscription.
