I'm not sure how laws differ from state to state, but, here in Arizona I spent an entire day making calls and trying to chase down a way to donate a cemetery plot. Any charitable groups were not interested because the cost of opening the grave and other additional costs, such as the liner, would still be too much for any charity case to afford. The only option left to us was to deed the plot back to the cemetery and let them sell it again.
