Hi, I received a copy of the death certificate for Gladys McDowell who died on bronchio pneumonia. It lists her husband's name as William but his age is marked "unknown". They are living at 6716 Merritt Ave. it gives her parents names as Samuel Zimmerman b. in Hungary and her mother as Eva Kresch, unknown. Gladys was born in Brooklyn NY on June 6, 1995. She's buried at Oakwoods Cemetery. I've contacted the cemetery when I discovered that her mother-in-law and husband were later buried there. These two were cremated and their ashes are in a storage room. I don't know about Gladys. She and William had one son, Neil, born in IL in 1916. He's listed in the 1930 census living with the family but I can't find him in any other document--SSDI, war dead, etc. There is a Neil McDowell who enlisted in the Army from Chicago. Any suggestions on where to search next? Maybe Gladys and William were married in Brooklyn and then went to IL. Any advice/assistance greatly appreciated. Thanks.
