    3. We never had hot water until 1942--my mother heated it on the stove in the kitchen. I loved to go to my grandmothers who lived on Springfield near Grand. They had hot water and a very deep old fashioned bath tub. My idea of heaven. I really don't know how todays kids with their 30 minute daily showers would ever survive. My grand daughter can not believe that I only washed my hair once a week. Unless it was summer and we went to the pool where they had showers. Somehow we made it--with only one bathroom. Grace

    3. I was thinking about that very thing. We used to wash our hair in the bathroom sink (dipping method) or while in the bathtub. To this day, I can't stand to wash my hair in the shower...preferring the kitchen sink. (Hope that doesn't gross anyone out.)
