Hi Paula You might want to try the Great Lakes District of the National Archives. Here is the url: http://www.archives.gov/great-lakes/chicago/public/ Click Naturalization Record in the box on the right side of the page. Hope this helps. Also the Cook County site about naturalization records has information: http://www.cookcountyclerkofcourt.org/Archives_/Archive_Searches/Naturalization_Search/naturalization_search.htm or use the short link: http://tinyurl.com/6qqla Mary nswanson@mchsi.com wrote: Hi Paula You might want to try the Great Lakes District of the National Archives. Hi All, Hopefully, this site will not get so bogged down that it is not useful. I was on last night and found a few little tidbits that were useful to me. Sharon "I am thrilled to let you know that as of January 31, 2007, ALL back issues of Everton Publishers' Genealogical Helper magazine, from 1947-2007, will be online and searchable at _WorldVitalRecords.com_ (http://www.worldvitalrecords.com/?utm_source=wvremail&utm_medium=email &utm_campaign=em012907A ) ! This is a premium database AND it will be FREE for everyone to use for the first 10 days, as are all new databases we put online."
I need some help understanding how to use the Genealogical Helper data base. I entered the surname of Ferris and came up with 440 hits. How do I access the issue and page number represented...such as Ferris R-33, S-23, T-1,44, W-38? I don't see much value in knowing that in December 1950 "EGGLESTON, Mrs. C. wants data of Ferris (Conn)." Do any of you use this site? Thanks for any input.
