I recently contacted Newsbank about accessing the Tribune Archives. I was advised that the Trib is only available, by an agreement with the Chicago Tribune, through Newsbank's institutional access only. Such as libraries. It will not be available for individual access. I asked what is my closed available location that I could visit and was advised that that their in none in Florida. It seems that the Trib has a for pay access (through Quest) to their obit files and will not be giving it away. Even the Ancestry.com newspaper files will not actually open for items dated in the 1960s, 1970s etc.
