Hello everyone, I have browsed and searched the Cook Co. lists archives for years and have just subscribed to the digest format. I have a couple research projects set aside for this winter that I hope some of you might be able to help with. My family has old history in Chicago, mid 1800's to about 1909. They (my grandparents) moved west to Melrose Park where the family lived till the 1970's. All are gone now or scattered in the suburbs and out of state. I moved to the Ozark Mountains of SW Missouri 25 years ago and have taken over the "family historian" job, the third in my direct line from the 1880's. I'm not sure if I can contribute much to the list from 500 miles away but I will bring up some interesting history subjects that I would like to learn more about. My genealogy research had made a turn from the names and dates to the history behind it all. A very interesting and enjoyable change from documenting family names of the last few hundred years.
