He was 90. The Chicago native lived in Oakland before moving to Walnut Creek 31 years ago. He was chief of the western branch of the maritime commission. He also was president of Rossmoor Sportsman Club, moderator of Rossmoor Polgriam Congressional Church and judge advocate emeritus of Rossmoor Navy League. He is survived by one grandchild and four great-grandchildren. His wife, Freda Schneiber, died in 1994. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Byron Park, Walnut Creek. Ashes to be scattered at sea.
