I am trying to be a good mother-in-law. One of my sil has asked for information for his Dad. While I was born in Chicago and my parents lived there until 1976, I left when I married in 1953. His Dad came to Chicago from Maryland to attend a electrical school which he remembers as Coen (I think it might be Coyne, but not sure). The time period is between 1948-51. First he roomed in a boarding house run by a lady whose name was Lola Hendron (alias Granny). When he left there he lived with George and Margaret Kubala at 113 North Menard .. They had two sons at the time, the oldest was named Paul and he does not remember the younger child's name. He kept in touch with Margaret for a while, long enough to know that George was in the Korean Conflict and was wounded. Life kind of gets in the way and he lost touch. But he remembers these folks as such "special people" who played an important part on his journey through life, he would like to know if they or their sons are still alive, so he can thank them again. His education at the school enabled him to find an excellent job in our area. He thought that George was a teacher, perhaps in the Chicago Public Schools, but is not sure. They may have had other children since they were still quite young. My sil's father is almost 77 now and is thinking of these great people. If anyone knows about these folks, please contact me either on the list or privately. I don't have access to a Chicago phone directory and we live in a small town in Maryland, so trying that avenue would not be possible. He's a terrific son in law and I am anxious to help. Thank you for any assistance you can offer. Sophie
