Hi Kathryn, The 1880 Census was taken early in June 1880 and was suppose to report the status as of June 1, 1880. I do not find your Patrick in the 1880 Census, was the name spelled different? Were they living in IL? Wife's name? Winefred was the first of the children born in Illinois. Unfortunately, I do not have a date on the census to estimate the month of her birth so 1879 is as close as I can come to it. Would some kind person look for the date of the 1880 census, and the address of the family's residence? If possible, could someone also look for a birth registration for Winefred, in the hope that her mother's maiden name is given? Thanks in advance - your time and efforts are appreciated.
