    3. IF Viola Britvich married ____ Walker (or anybody else) - -anywhere in Illinois - from 1962-2005 - the IL Dept of Public Health can provide a Marriage Verification certificate. IDPH has a statewide IL database of marriages in IL 1862-2005 - and divorces in IL for that same time frame - and each search costs only $5.00. The form (for marriage verifications, anyway) - is titled "Application for Verification of Marriage Record Files" - the applicant/requestor should supply all possible information, if known. Info requested on the Application for Marriage verification: Groom: first, middle & last name Bride: first, middle & MAIDEN last name place of marriage: city, county, state date of marriage - - plus, the applicant/requestor's name & address. In this particular case, one would only complete the (known) name of the bride, the surname of the groom, and DEFINITELY make an additional note that the bride was born in 1939 - - because that information IS available to IDPH staffers in their database. I have been able to find multiple marriages (and several corresponding divorces~) for clients' research, by ONLY providing to IDPH the name of the bride, and her approximate date of birth. IDPH staff check all possible marriages in their databases, and can eliminate those for which the bride was definitely too young, or too old, to have been the one(s) I was seeking. [one case example: "Jane Doe" graduated from an IL high school in 1960, and an IL college in 1964; this made her birthyear about 1942/43. Cannot find her by her maiden name, so assumed she married after college. Hoping that she married in IL, I requested a marriage verification from IDPH. They found 3 marriages in IL during the 1962-2005 time frame: a - bride aged 48 as of 1977 marriage = birthyear abt 1939 - probably too early b - bride aged 17 as of 1980 marriage -- birthyear abt 1963 - too late c - bride aged 24 as of 1968 marriage - birthyear abt 1944 -- and that WAS the right marriage. The marriage verification certificate is NOT as comlete as a marriage license; all it provides is the names of bride & groom, city, county & date of marriage. (but that's more than what was known before~) I hope this info is of some help! molly Molly Kennedy P O Box 5785 Springfield, IL 62705 www.mollx.com Genealogy - Confusing the dead, and annoying the living. >From: Pattimeyers67@aol.com >Subject: [COOK-CO-IL] BRITVICH >To: COOK-CO-IL@rootsweb.com >Message-ID: <d5c.6d36a2a.335fe460@aol.com> >Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" > >Is anyone on the list familiar with Viola Britvich b 1939 who married a man >with the last name of Walker? > >Any help in locating her or her family would be appreciated, > >Thanks, > >Patti Meyers >Westmont, IL _________________________________________________________________ Interest Rates NEAR 39yr LOWS! $430,000 Mortgage for $1,299/mo - Calculate new payment http://www.lowermybills.com/lre/index.jsp?sourceid=lmb-9632-19132&moid=14888
