Spring Greetings to all, I have been a member of the Cook Co. IL list for quite a few years. I would appreciate any help someone might be able to give in assisting me in locating some obits. I have tried various libraries and have come up empty handed so far. Please feel free to contact me off list if you prefer. Below is the basic info I have on the family we are trying to locate. I am trying to find the obits and death records for a father and a son. Christoph Lehner (possible middle or first name Andreas/ Andrew???) Lehner and his son John Paul (possibly christened Johann Phillipe) Lehner. Christoph was born 1838 in Germany, and John was born 1862 in Milwaukee area. The only thing I know for certain is they both lived and had families in Chicago proper for a while. They both then moved to the Chicago "area" (not sure where). I have his father's (Andreas Lehner) obit from WI that says Christoph (Christopher) Lehner was living in Chicago when he died around 1880s I believe. I don't have an official death date on Christoph but believe it to be 1890. His son, John P. Lehner died Dec 25, 1944. I have a death cert, but I am trying to find an obit and on his wife, if possible. His wife Bertha M. Lowe died in 1934. They lived for a time in Fox Lake, and are both buried in Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst. I have been to their graves. I am trying to find out a few things... all of their middle names? Who the parents are? Where Christoph is buried? And anything else which will help me break down a few other brick walls. LOL Thank you all for your assistance, it is most appreciated. People I have met on this list have become friends and have put me in touch with others who have been able to guide me to pertinent info; so thanks to all of you.
