    1. Re: [COOK-CO-IL] Aragon Ballroom
    2. I love the thoughts about the Aragon Ballroom. I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago and had never been that "far north". After the war a soldier I had written to [knew his brother but had never met him--found his name on a book plate in a textbook in one of my classes] took me dancing there. I will be 81 next month and I still remember the dress I wore that evening and going to the Brass Rail in the Loop after wards. What a fond memory. I didn't marry him, but we both had happy memories of knowing each other. There is a new book out "Dream When You're Feeling Blue" by an author named Beck that I can't wait to read. It is about the war years in Chicago from a woman's perspective. The reviews sound like it will be a fun book to read. Grace
