Molly, I went to the IDPH website and found that divorces are only indexed from January 1, 1962 forward. In my case, my parents divorced (while living in Chicago) "around" 1953. when I was about 10 years old. My dad, Daniel Sternquist, was given custody of the three children which was unusual for the day. My brother and I have always wanted to know the actual date of their divorce, who filed for the divorce and the reason given. What other option do I have in locating their divorce records? Thanks.
