Two questions for those of you who know something about the military. A friend in Ireland sent me a newpaper clipping about a likely relative of mine who visited relatives in Ireland in 1945. The clipping refers to him as a corporal in the US Navy. Did/does the Navy have corporals (I'd never heard of that before)? Assuming he's deceased by now, is there a government department I could contact to try to learn where he died? His name is fairly common so I can't pick him out of the SSDI. Thanks for any tips! Diane
