    1. [COOK-CO-IL] Holmer/Hagemeister

    3. Linda, This may sound like an odd idea (and maybe one you've already thought of) but have you considered looking for Holmer as Helmer or Holmes? I only bring it up because, while trying to search obits for your Holmer, an obit for Helmer and one for Holmes came up, both were transcribed incorrectly. I did find the obit in the Chicago Trib Archives for Annie's mother and I noticed she's listed as Hagemister. I'll keep looking but errors were/are so easily made. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Bea Never give up. Never surrender. Never forget. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi I'm "pretty sure" this is not my Annie Holmer :( Someone reported that she was living with Mr. Holmer in 1901. "My" Annie's husband didn't die until 1908. I have found all 4 of her sisters in every census and even found living relatives and received pictures from them. She is a mystery after the 1900 census. I have been searching for her for 10 years. If anyone can find her it would be a miracle! I found her and her family on a 1868 Passenger List. Johanne Christine Caroline Hagemeister was born March 25, 1860 - She went by Annie She married a William Henry Hackmaster (Hachmeister) Feb. 24, 1881 He died Jan. 25, 1903 I don't find her in the 1910 census so I'm thinking she was already married again. I know she was alive in 1920 because she is mentioned as daughter, Mrs. Holmer, in her mother's obit and she signed the death certificate "A. Holmer" I can't find when she married Holmer - I even went to LDS and looked for her as Hackmaster marrying a Holmer - no luck. But...........found someone that I think was her - in the Wisc. Marriage Index, a Annie Hackmaster married a Henry J. Blanchard in 1903 in Kenosha, they then lived in Lake County, IL and he died June 14, 1917 in Antioch - her age and birthplace checks out on this, of course, there is no Census in those years So, now I'm thinking Annie Blanchard married _____ Holmer 1917 - 1920, cannot find them in the 1910 census though. Do you have any ideas of what else I should search? I've looked for Obits - 1917 is missing from Antioch Library. Maybe I should try to order his death certificate? But I know he was married to a Annie so what else would that tell me? Linda in IL
