    3. I subscribe to the Godfrey Library for $35/year as I recall and I have access to Newspaper Archive through that. I found a ton of stuff related to my family in Akron, OH even though all the OH papers they had didn't include Akron. I also found much stuff in their CA papers. It would obviously be most useful if the have papers in the locals you are searching in and your ancestors did things that were noted in the papers. 3. If you have access to Ancestry.com, you have the Newspaper Archive papers available. As with most databases, these do not include all newspapers or all times you would like them. If you would like to have access to old newspapers from around the country, look for the U. S. Newspaper Project pages from the state you are interested in on the Internet. This ongoing project is making many papers available for research on microfilm, some can be interlibrary loaned for little or no charge from the repository. For some large papers, ProQuest is digitizing the historical papers and making them available for lease to libraries. These now include the Chicago Tribune, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, and Atlanta Constitution. They are fairly expensive and not all libraries will purchase access to them.
