I am searching for info for a friend of mine. He found his grandfathers obit in a stack of papers. The obit is cut out of the middle of the page. There is no date, no newspaper heading......... These is no info on cemetary, burial. The obit is probably from the Denver Post as I know he was buried in Denver. But, ir could also have come from a Shelby newspaper. I have included the obit exactly as it is in the newspaper. DIES IN DENVER "Frank Schlage, former owner of the Churchill House passed away early Wednesday at the Porter Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Schlage had been in ill-health for some months which necessitated the selling of the tourist home early this fall and their removal to Denver. Immediately upon his return there he entered the hospital for surgery and except for a six-day period at home had been hospitalized until the time of his death. Mr. and Mrs. Schlage first came to Shelby in the fall of 1946 when they purchased the Churchill House from Mr. and Mrs. Frank Galoit. Mr. Schlage was a member of Denver Lodge F. & A.M., Knight Templars and Shrine. He would have been 65 years of age on Nov. 22 having been born in Chicago in 1886. Surviving besides his wife at 650 S. Federal St. in Denver are a son, George; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs Edward Mayer of Whitehall and Mrs. Clara Bleucher of New Era, and two brothers, Paul and John of Chicago. Another brother, Gus, died six weeks ago in Chicago." With no date I would assume this was around 1951? Frank Emil Schlage, b 11/22/1885 d. ?. He married Emma M Marker, b.1888, m. aft. 1900. They had one child, George LeRoy Schlage. Census record show them in Cook, CO. IL. and then in 1920, Denver, CO. The census records show Frank born in Michigan, but one shows he was born in Germany. Can someone point in a direction that I could find some info? I would greatly appreciate the help. Cindy Walp 706 Laurel St. Bastrop, TX 78602 cwalp@sbcglobal.net
