    3. I can only speak about the Daily News, but I have access to archive copies on microfilm beginning with July 1876. I'm not sure if the paper started in 1876, or if that's the date the University chose to start filming. Either way it looks like the Chicago Daily News was in business at least a hundred years before printing their last issue on March 4, 1978.     Relatively speaking, Laura   Searching for my TOLF ancestors and their descendants in Sweden and Illinois  http://livinginthepastlane.com, http://livinginthepastlane.blogspot.com/, http://twitter.com/itsallrelatives   Volunteer for RAOGK at http://www.raogk.org/ ________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected] Sent: Sun, March 28, 2010 4:10:30 PM Subject: Re: [COOK-CO-IL] What was there? Daryl Ann, >From the interactive map at http://www.encyclopedia.chicagohistory.org/pages/10345.html , it show there might be the EL there. It is difficult to tell. However, I do believe the EL runs down the center of the Ike. I am not sure when it came into existence, but someone like Masugu might know. Articles from the papers woud be the Trib, but not sure if the Sun-Times or the Herald or the Daily News was around then. Molly maybe able to help you there.
