Hi Cooksters: I'll be in Chicago for a four-day weekend with my sisters in July. I'm considering going a day early to do some family history research. I would arrive on Wednesday morning, July 21, and rent a car for a day. This extra day would be pretty expensive, and I'm wondering how productive it would be. I've heard that the LDS Center in Hyde Park has all the films from St. Adalbert's and St. Stanislaus Kostka church books. Is that correct? Do they have any others? I'd also like to visit St. Adalbert Cemetery, where many of my ancestors are buried. My Polish ancestors arrived in Chicago in 1871 and the German side in 1925. I believe my father attended St. Maurice's Elementary School in the 1920s and 1930s. Any other suggestions for a good use of my time? What about visiting the churches to take pictures?
